These are lovely. When you've mentioned book binding before I was picturing much more mundane books. I had no idea it was possible to create such beautiful works of art.

Karen, a droid?! What happened to the iPhone? I recently got a Droid too and now that I'm semi-resigned I hope to have fun with more of its apps. My husband is a huge scifi-er and was just saying how the technology that is out today is actually a few years old. Having young kids its almost freaky to imagine what they'll be using ten years from now in school. 'Beam me up' may be a normal thing.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for making the effort to get this message across. I'm taking this as a silver lining to the idea that you are now 'between jobs'.

An expert in working with farm animals would always start by hitting them over the head with a 2x4. When asked about his technique he replied, "Well, first you have to get their attention."

Techmuse, for goodness sake don't soft pedal, beat them over the head. Make it simple, direct and repeat yourself. A bunch of namby-pamby teacher-talk, we-are-the-world, people-matter blather isn't going to get through.

I agree with those you have chosen to keep. When I cleaned out my office before the move, I kept several of the same ones. I decided to keep those books that changed my thinking, or point of view, or gave me some great insight...books I would want to refer back to again. Without knowing exactly what I would be on to next, it was hard to toss as much stuff as I would like.
