Rant

I hate (not in any particular order):

  • -territoriality
  • -people who think that it’s OK to be intentionally rude, especially when they are several pay levels above you
  • -people who think they can pretend you don’t exist, even when you’ve just responded to them
  • -people who don’t trust you, don’t trust your professionalism, your education credentials, your judgement
  • -people who work from criticism rather than collaboration
  • -people who say one thing to your face and then another once you are no longer there
  • -people who can’t seem to remember that we’ve been sharing, showing, informing from the beginning–and who act like things are a big secret kept being kept from them
  • -people who say they believe one thing but, when push comes to shove, cave in to the traditional (this one is just a dislike–because I understand it–but I think it’s one of the reasons that real, substantive, change seems to take forever

Status Quote

I think that only daring speculation can lead us further and not accumulation of facts.

With the project I’m working on at the office right now, I need to put this Einstein quote on a “halo” and wear it on my head so that people won’t keep suggesting that we evaluate student technology use with a multiple choice test.  It’s bad enough having to report it out all==but at least we’ll be using a performance based assessment as part of a curriculum project….now if only the school board will “buy it”
